A petrifying gaze, and knack for leaving statues in their wake; strange creatures, known as basilisk, have taken many forms and shapes depending on their respective regions and environment. They might be a reluctant and isolated species, sometimes going unnoticed, but other times there might be troubling telltale signs that they are near…
Here we have Quick, the shark, that was distracted looking at the various ruins around him that he failed to notice the small pack of young basilisk playfully skulking around him. By the time Quick finally notices, his fate is already sealed…
Quick had heard rumors of strange creatures appearing around these ruins. The shark’s chain of thought is cut short when the sound of movement startles him. Three pairs of curious eyes peered at Quick from the darkness, giving the poor shark quite the fright. Almost immediately, Quick’s vision goes black and his body goes stiff, he does not even have time to express his surprise as his face begins to feel heavy, solidifying into stone. It was not long before stone encased a majority of Quick’s body, and from the darkness the figures finally revealed themselves, three small not so scary looking basilisk. Their curious young eyes look up and down Quick examining the shark’s body as he is still in the process of being petrified into a statue of stone, his knees buckling as he struggles to support his cold stone torso. One of the basilisk ruffled through the shark’s satchel as they pulled out a writing utensil and scrap of parchment before playfully drawing a sketch of Quick. The second basilisk took more of an interest in the shark, curiously probing Quick in the toes with their tongue as the leg shuttered, almost threatening to topple the shark over. The final basilisk notices the parchment being written on has a map on the other side and fantasizes the promise of treasure and adventure.

Was not really sure how this was going to come out, switched to a new setup recently and am still learning the new layout. I was not originally going to name these fellas, but I like their simple design so they might show up in future projects. Their names are from left to right are Seak, Feind, and Discovar.
Have a relatively nice day and beware deception, behind those curious playful eyes could be an unforeseen danger…
