"Пора наряжаться!.. (Vesti la Giubba!..)" - ария Канио из оперы Руджеро Леонкавалло "Паяцы" (конец 1-го акта).
Ария является сложнейшей арией для тенора ввиду её эмоциональной перегруженности:
Канио узнаёт о том, что его жена, Коломбина, изменяет ему. Сердце Канио разбито... Но, ввиду специфики своей профессии (работает он клоуном в цирке), он вынужден, скрывая гнев и отчаяние в своём сердце, идти и развлекать публику. Время не ждёт, пора наряжаться...
Гораций Мельхиор прекрасно исполнил эту арию. Браво, Гораций!
Записано вживую во время телешоу в Берлине в 1960-м году.
"It's time to dress up!.. (Vesti la Giubba!..)" - Kanio's aria from Ruggero Leoncavallo's opera "Pagliacci" (end of act 1).
The aria is the most difficult aria for the tenor due to its emotional congestion:
Kanio finds out that his wife, Colombina, is cheating on him. Kanio's heart is broken... But, due to the specifics of his profession (he works as a clown in a circus), he is forced, hiding anger and despair in his heart, to go and entertain the audience. Time doesn't wait, it's time to dress up...
Horace Melchior performed this aria beautifully. Bravo, Horace!
