This sketch shows the placement of the F20A3 Stalker's gun. It's centerline placement makes alignment easier than in aircraft with an off-center gun, and this position also guarantees perfect shell convergeance at all ranges. (The F/A-18 Hornet family of fighters have almost exactly the same gun placement).
The F20A3's powerful FCS doesn't get in the way, either; it's phased array antenna is only about 4x3 feet in diameter, and the entire computer assembly is about the size of a suitcase.
As for the problem of squeezing in enough ammo, instead of using a traditional cylindrical ammo tank, the F20A3 utilizes an oblong-shaped one instead, allowing for a whopping 1400 rounds of 20mm shells. Why so much ammo? I'll explain on a later upload.
Note that the F14A1 Camaro uses the same gun and magazine, but in a different style of mounting.

"...If you have to ask, you know nothing about dogfights."
No kidding!
With 1400 rounds (even @10000rpm), the Stalker probably has enough ammo to cary out most missions without ever even firing (let alone carrying) a single missile. That's enough ammo for at least 20 kills --- versus enough ammo for just 4 of 5 kills, on the F-22A Raptor.
Remember, the F20A3 Stalker is designed to completely overwhelm any foe, in any numbers, in any mode of combat, --- including dogfights. Anything less will be useless in Sixth-Generation Fighter Warfare.

Right. All of the stealth in the world won't help if you run out of ammo in the middle of a gun pass. The enemy will know you're there, and be able to pinpoint you by following the tracers back to their source. Not to mention that, at gunfighting range, there's enough radiated energy from a radar to track you, even if you're an F/A-22. The only way to make sure you get out of there with your hide intact is to ensure that your enemy is decimated before he can kill you.
