First off, I love this! The figure, the expression, the action... so good! As an appreciator of lights, colors, and environments, I can see there was some good amount of thought put into these elements. The reflective values of white or lightly colored sand does have this kind of intensity (I've seen this IRL). There's also the dust of the sand that will white out the surface colors of things(such as the dark black color of their lower left foreleg and foot pads).
I love that you added reflective values in the clouds. They really do project a blurred contour and misty light field back and forth from cloud to cloud.
There could be two suns in this world and I love the idea. There are so many colors that the sun affects and produces at different angles. The light affecting the goal post spirals as it moves upward, creating movement from an area, that in an IRL photo, might've been just static bland, motionless. I love how the distance from the viewer affects the shapes of perspective from nearly flat to nearly fish-eye, as the goal post to the clouds, to the vanishing point on the horizon.
The light sources of the ambient sand, sun on the horizon, and illuminated volley ball create a nice movement over the whole piece. Truly there was a lot of heart in this piece.
Thank you, Nanukk! This is so good!
I'll be sure to watch for availability if you decide to take on commissions like this one again in the future.
