Remember this guy? :D Remember how I said I was gonna try to draw him in a different color palette?
Here he is! Took long enough. xD
I actually just finished this today... I'd colored the monster himself more than a month ago, but had him sitting around until I realized I need to start finishing pieces... So he finally got a background. x3 I think it turned out okay, other than the graininess... I'll try to work on it more to get that worked out. Colored pencils are sort of annoying to work with that way.
Sooo... I'd appreciate any critiques/suggestions on this, since I'm applying to school as an art major and this will be in my application portfolio. :3

Wow. Your traditional coloring is so awesome looking and I'm amazed by the fact you didnt outline any of the stuff in black thick lines (besides where he is shaded). The colors you chose for everything just fit so well together. I love the way he looks. He's like a magma monster. I think you really pulled off the background too. It doesnt take away from him but its still a promanent addition to the picture.
As for the grained look with the colored pencils, I could send you a blender pencil to help that out. ^^ They come in handy for making the colors smooth without giving that icky plastic look.

Eeeee your comment makes me so happy! Thank you so much! <333 I'm glad you like it. I was worried that the background would take away from the monster himself, but now I feel much better about it. :D
The picture doesn't look as grainy in person... Don't feel you need to send me a blender though--you're too sweet. ;o; It sounds like a handy thing to have, though. :D
Thanks again hon! <33

Thanks! Yeah, I agree this color scheme a lot better. It worked a lot better for his design. I like the steam, since his back looks a lot like a bunch of craters, but it probably wouldn't be that fun... Unless he was made out of magma. :O I dunno.
Glad you like it though!
