If you were one of the few people long ago who ever caught a glimpse of Carmen's feet be them bare or in sandals, you'd notice they look rather....colorful simply put. Well yes, yes they are...or were. There's a little story behind that;
Long ago while she was still in middle school back in her old home town of San Angeles, Carmen reluctantly chose to babysit the two daughters of one of her vacationing relatives while they and her parents went out for the night. Long story short while they didn't hit it off from the start, eventually they slowly but surely grew on each other from playing games, watching movies and getting their snack on here and there. One of the girls brought up the idea to play a game of "Salon" and again despite her reluctance at first, decides to play along as their first/best customer, from having her hair brushed to her finger nails painted...of multiple colors with no solid ones. Then they went for her feet....
Each time she nervously protested, the more the two girls undid and pulled off her low top sneakers one by one. Then went her socks and she couldn't help but hide her face with a bashful cracked smile from a series of "PU"s and giggles as her freshly bared toes spread and wiggled. Guess Carmen got a kick of it too, they were only kind of sweaty despite showing signs of being well kept for a rough and tumble gal like her. Much like her finger nails, which were painted rather well without a spot of mess, she watched as each of her toenails were painted one color after another till finally looked at their work after letting them all dry out.
She couldn't help but let out a cracked smile, and "bellowed" as she wiggled all her fingers and toes like a unhappy customer.
"What have you done to my nails, and my FEET?? They look like they've been dipped through a rainbow!"
"Whoops, sorry about that....Rainbow Toes!"
Good gosh, what a silly name...and was enough to have her and the girls fall out laughing.
That was so long ago, she reminisced. She tries to keep in touch with her nieces from time to time but of course, each has their own life to tend to and wished nothing but the best. She kept that funny little nickname to herself to the point of occasionally painting her toenails different colors. It was until her early days in high school where she grown older that she eventually dropped the name altogether, let alone paint her nails like normal whenever she feels like it to this day.
Still looking back, it was a fond little memory none the less. Even a little ditty came with it thanks to them...
"Forget your worries and your woes, cause here comes Carmen Rainbow Toes!"

In truth if you don't mind me bragging abit, but I'm always honored and humbled that the OCs I have are admired let alone remembered when their brought up in conversations, with my sassy tomboy cat Carmen here is no exception. So much so that one person even remembers one of my old "classics" back when I was still actually drawing, if you would call my old works that.
The one I speak of is this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6661614/ , Carmen simply locked up and foot tickled tortured along with
mamei799 's OC Mamei.
And looking closely at her feet, her toenails are painted multi-color as inspired by that famous scene from a two-part episode of Cowboy Bebop (those who watched the show would know good and well which episode I speak of. Like, you CAN'T miss it or not remember it https://i.postimg.cc/ncFhDPQK/vlcsn.....h12m35s140.png ). Any real reason why I gave her toenails those kind of colors outside from the show way back then is lost to me. Guess you can say I said "screw it" and went from there. And the rest is history if you can believe that.
Fast forward to today, and recently discovered that during a conversation with a talented and beloved artist that he still remembers Carmen from her older concepts and this very drawing right down to the "rainbow toes" themselves. And after some thought and consideration, decided to hit someone up commission-wise and there you go; Carmen bashfully baring her multi-colored toes for us to see and admire.
And of course for those who'd stick with the Au natural nails of this bashful tomboyish cutie https://sta.sh/0rbovcnazzp .
