Evoc . An igwulf adaptation of his pilot whale character, Viska. He mentioned that he thought she might make a good igwulf, and I couldn't help but try rising to the challenge of turning something as different as a whale into an igwulf. Besides which, her personality really just clicks with the norm. You can find a picture of vanilla Viska here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3518609/ with her brother, who you can now find here. In her belly. Well, I suppose all through her body since then, but you get the idea...
The markings were actually a lot of fun to adapt. The over-eye marks you can see have been turned into her ear stripes. They will likely be appearing farther back (like in the full-body side) than the head details. Probably should have fixed that. The tailstripes have been adapted from her saddlepatch, in the same starfish design. The tips touch together at the bottom of the tail.
Her maw and insides are that blue-ish shown in the mawshot. Her eyes (which I really should have done a detail on) are a brownish red, sort of like an intense copper, especially when using her igwulf hypnosis.
The eye trick hypnosis, as I think I've said before, has a different route to the same effect for each user, the effect being compliance of their victim. Where Reed's eyetrick causes a victim to feel pleasant to urge compliance, Viska's acts by feeding thoughts of her grandure and dominence over the victim, making them feel inferior and sort of servile. She is, without question, a natural at using the skill.
This might actually be the first time I'm posting a drawing of a female igwulf, too...! As you can see, they share in features significantly with males. The easiest way to tell genders apart is to look to their manes. Where male manes cover their heads like hair and follow down their back, female manes start at the back of the head (between the ears), and cover their chests as well in thick fluff. Secondarily, pouches. Reed is strange in being a male that has no pouch at all, where most male igwulves have a shallow, lipless pouch, good for holding things and streamlined to near invisibility when not in use. Female's, however, have rather pronounced, deep pouches for carrying eggs and young that start visibly just under the mane.
Viska's tail being shorter is not due to gender, but due to young age instead.
