Mine is rated pg-13 for violence, intense moments and language but there is nothing more to it that is worth "warning" readers about (I mean no one even kisses).
With my story I tried to go for a "part of the game" feel, and I tried to create a good balance of humor/lighthearted vs dark/angst(for lack of a better comparison this balance along with how intense/violent it gets is similar to the anime Fullmetal Alchemist)
Overall its a fantasy, action, adventure story with some lighthearted parts that focus on the family and affection between characters. (which the lighthearted parts of the story are there to build depth for the darker parts, things get more intense when the characters have a strong bond and one is in danger)

which doesn't take anything away from the result.
you do have a point about intensity, but because i see any world more as places then people,
intensity isn't exactly something i look or live for.
