In the year since the Death of Preia Starle, Aleutian Dex and the Repulse have taken a beating. Imperial campaigns to end both piracy and the Resistance have resulted in thousands of deaths from all sides, and horrendous damage to vessels on the frontier. Aleutian Dex himself found himself grounded after the Battle of Gare Dal. While he commanded the carrier from the bridge, a 15 inch shell from an Imperial cruiser ripped through the hanger doors on the Repulse's starboard side, tore the tail off of Aleutian's Sirrus Warshrike, and knocked a hanger crane truck out the open port doors without exploding.

Any other situation would have seen the Warshrike on the scrap pile after this incident, but aircraft are a precious commodity to airpirates, The tail off of another Sirrus product, a Sirrus GV-500 "Super Cruise" high speed mail plane, was grafted to the fuselage, the structure strengthened, and the resulting aircraft performs almost the same as the original V tail. It was during this refit that saw the familiar "shark jaws" that originally adorned the fighter replaced with the current "Fire Angel" Imagry. while the pin up is identical, the name is painted differently on each side of the nose.
