with options 3 and 4 I would call them "painter" and "illustrator" personally since "artist" can apply to anyone who makes art, but that's just what I say. Also "drawer" is awkward for me to say.
also calling it "AI" isn't true either since it's just algorithm so it's a lie from every angle

The interesting thing here is, if your a sculptor or an musitian. "artist" is a secondary deffinition of what you are.
But if you create 2D images, titles like "cartoonist," "painter", etc, are the seccondary deffinitions, because first and foremost, you are an "artist."
When you consider that the same exact skill set can be applied to many of these sub catagories, such as "illustraitor" or "cartoonist" etc. and one "artist" can infact be many of these things moving from one to the other withtout ever settling down on just one. In addition, it is often impossible to decide which of the sub catagories applies without asking, and often the person in question hasn't really thought about it.
Hence, people use the term "artist" first and formost for those who create 2D art. Hence why the term is important to us "artists" who spent years honing our skills, craft and creativity.

Deffinitin: "a person who creates art (such as painting, sculpture, music, or writing) using conscious skill and creative imagination"
The AI fails this deffinition for not being a person. Because it is a one function machine devoid of identity or a sense of self.
The AI also fails this deffinition, because functionally it is only capable of copying what it has seen using billions of refferences and mashing them together. This has been legally decided to not be a form of creativity.
The AI "artist" fails this deffinition, for not being the entity that does the creating. For it is the AI that created the image on their behalf.
Notice how in the comic, the AI is litterally taking the place of the digital artist, while the AI "artist" is just telling them what to do.

AI does not just copy things and if you think that you have no idea how it works. It produces generally novel stuff based on what it has seen, just like an artist would learn based on looking at references for structure and style. This is fairly evident by the sheer discrepancy in training data vs model size. Stable Diffusion was trained on 100+ TB of images and the resulting model is less than 10 GB in size. It clearly has generalized the contents of those images well given that's a 10,000x reduction in information.
Also it is convenient you did not put other artistic fields in this image like CGI and photography because I think you'll have a harder time making false equivalences around those like this given they are also more about instructing a computer to do things rather than putting a brush to a canvas. AI artists are artists because they are expressing human creativity via a tool which allows them to realize it, that is the definition of art.
Of course art is a spectrum and much of what they produce you could call low quality art if they are not putting much effort in and making the computer do most of the work (one could say just rendering a 3D cube in Blender is also not very high quality or labor intensive since you can do it in 10 seconds), but it is art none the less. It's also worth noting some people do spend just as much time making AI art (or at least using it in conjunction with other stuff) as other traditional methods and that stuff is just as worthy of being appreciated as art as anything else.

sweetie, just because you use a hammer doesnt make you a carpenter
jamming your RAM stick on a computer doesnt make you a computer scientist
Band aiding a wound and kissing a booboo doesnt make you a nurse
most if not all people who uses AI arent artist, they are creative YES, but not artist, because they are just using a tool, warframe generates unique maps, does that mean every map in warframe is irreplicable? no, you notice the parts that make them recognizable, do not mistake random generation for oriiginality or unique.
it takes a true artist, with skills to take AI work, and translate it and improve it, it takes a skilled hand, and experienced hand, to grab a tool and use it properly
so calling every son of the milkman an artist, just cause they use AI to make anime girls, is like saying that "everyone poops" is a magnum opus of literature... it just an offensive comparison
there aint no easy ways to greatness and success, let alone in art that requires precision, creativity, determination and consistency... no such thing as "only creativity matters" in the artist fields ever exists
