"The Greater Meaning of Counterpoint" selection IV
Full recording of my fugue: Contrapunctus Ulteriorem Finem IV
The fourth variation uses the same chord progressions as the first variation but maintains an extremely complex density throughout the piece. This is one of my favorites and considered by my classmates and professor to be one of my best compositions to date.
If you would like the sheet music please contact me - it is written for the piano, harpsichord, or pipe organ (does not use pedals).
Interesting facts:
-The ending of the piece, translated from base 7 to base 26, is my whole name
-at one point, the bass voice adds a temporary voice at which time the subject is preformed normally, in retrograde, in inversion, and in retrograde inversion at the same time
-at one point, the 8 notes in a measure in the alto voice correspond to the following 8 chords used
-the number of notes above and below the tonic are EXACTLY equal! =]
-the sum of all the notes equals my birthday month*100+day
