Extremely sorry for the watermarks. Just really proud of this design and would really appreciate it not being stolen. Especially since it is for a possible web-comic.
Protagonist designing for a comic I will soon be working on.
I will be editing the description with the premise I've worked out.
Still trying to figure out the details.

I'm kind of worried that my drawings wont be good enough for a comic.. or my writing style wont work.. but we shall see, I guess. *Shrug*

What I have so far:
PaxRat takes place in a city where the rich live above in luxury ignorant of the poverty below. The upper half and lower half of the city is separated by quarantine.
10 years ago a pandemic hit and thousands of people died. It was a short lived virus, but word spread of a plague. The ruling power issued mandatory check ups on everyone to ensure that the plague could not be spread.
People, chosen by random, were taken from their homes and considered infected. The quarantine was soon packed with "sick" patients. Forced into comas and made to look ill. Every so often an "outbreak" will occur, they will show footage of quarantine patients, and admit more infected. This is to ensure control over the population, keep them scare and they will do as they are told.
When Quarantine is full, or someone dies, they get tossed into the pit located in the center of the city(also garbage chute. Those still alive are euthanized before being tossed in of course). Sealed well so the smell cannot reach the surface.
A curfew was set in place. Everyone has to be indoors by 6pm. Officers, called "Sanitizers", patrol the streets between the hours of 7pm and 8am. Since there has been a ban on any form of rodent or stray animal that may carry the plague, Sanitizers are required to exterminate any found. People who are found outside after curfew are considered infected and taken directly to quarantine.
Rats took refuge underground and formed large colonies. The bottom of the pit was conveniently located in the center of their colonies. They lived off of anything they could find that was edible. Including the dead bodies.
Pax, now 20yrs old, was taken from her family at the age of 10. She was one of the ones randomly selected to be considered infected. But she managed to escape. For those 10 years she has been living with the rats, and she knows the truth. It is up to her to expose quarantine for what it really is.

Haha, I like respirators. =P
Her's has 2 uses: 1. To keep from inhaling spray-paint, 2. To scare "Sanitizers" by appearing, at a glance, to be a giant rat. Giving her just enough time to jump into the shadows and get away. Though I am sure it can't always work. ;)
