We still don't know how this story is going to end (we're WELL off from any kind of ending) but we've been having fun spitballing this 'a few years later' epilogue between them

They're basically dating near the end. Lee's time is up and he's allowed to return to his life, but doesn't want to leave Mr. Highland now. Realising that his actions mean that Lee can never really consent to being with him though, Mr. Highland forces him to go, even though they're both heartbroken about it

During this time Lee's life gets back on track, he evolves into his own person again, he's in therapy. He tries to reach out to Mr. Highland with no luck. Mr. Highland on the other hand falls into patterns of self destruction, stops taking care of himself, refuses any attempts at contact from Lee or most of his old friends

When they do eventually meet again it's by chance and Lee is shocked at Mr. Highland's state. But we think that with some time and space between them they might be able to come back together and develop a proper relationship

Again this is just hypothetical but I wanted to draw some cute grungy Mr. Highlands and happy couple stuff. Mr. Highland (the bull) belongs to as always
