I made this candle holder for my Mama's birthday on saturday.
I decided to put a small fawn Pekingese on it, and as you can imagine, this is not just any Pekingese - it's our dog, Romeo, who died at the age of 15, when I was 14. I've grown up with this dog and my mama loved him as much as I did. I did not need any references to model him, because his picture is burned into my mind.
Unlike most Pekignese, Romeo had a nose, so that he never had problems with breathing. He died because his heart was weak and he had cancer of the liver, so that the vet had to euthanize him. I was able to pet him one last time before he was buried in our backyard to say good bye.
Sometimes I still think of the lucky times we had. And I had much fun in making this candle holder and I hope that my mama will like it! :3

So sah er immer aus, wenn er aufgeregt war bzw. wenn's Futter gab ^^
Manchmal auch beim entspannten Schlafen auf dem Teppich. Das Raffzähnchen war sogar so prägnant, dass dieses Merkmal sogar meinen Freunden im Gedächtnis geblieben ist und die haben ja nicht mit Romeo zusammen gelebt, sondern ihn nur hin und wieder mal gesehen ^^
