This new comic page is probably the most tender, so rich with emotions and huge hopes. Vince for first can't wait to have his beloved daddy back, and his big brother Sam as well reflects the same hope, the same strong desire to see his old man back. Even sweet Alexandrina does have her precious dad overseas, a good girl accompanied by doubts who keeps her hope to the max! She will forever believe to one day hug so tight her old man, and sweet Sam is there, close to Alex, already feeling excited for the band! The last panel on the right side just made me lose a tear.. two friends supporting each other as they look at the horizon, filled of hope. Dear Mittens, you did absolutely great job on this new page/episode! 😊👏💕
A good friend like Sam would be gold for everyone of us, capable to give support and just hug for reassure his beloved dears, we stay hopeful to meet one day our own friendly Sam. You are welcome sweetie! I can see better now why you were pretty eager to start telling and illustrate the parent storyline. I'm excited to see more and get to know if one day Alexa and Sam will hug again their old dads 😊👍
quite a lore opening strip
its very wholesome to see kids growing on the outsides while the bloodshed happens somewhere else
also see the conections of not only alex but also other npcs
also im gonna get hated but when they said they cannot leave due being underfire idk why i imagined the mix of stardewvalley here on the countryside
and another game like papers please on that side lol

Such a gentle compassionate handling of the complications brought by war. Children especially are so vulnerable, and Sam and Alexandrina, though older, are children as well in their own ways. Which is worse, certainty or uncertainty? An especially moving strip for an old veteran like me.
