Do You Think You're Better Off Alone?
Do you think you're better off alone?
Are you often melancholy or sadness-prone?
Do you think your life doesn't matter?
That you're far better off friendship-scattered?
These questions are too often asked of mirrors
when life's purpose seems less than clear.
The world's a place of chaotic wandering
full of stresses and anxieties that leave us wondering.
I don't have any answers as of yet.
Sometimes a kind existence is the safest bet
when the answers we find are all too often disputed
by an inner mind that hates being refuted.
Still, in loneliness, we might find some clarity.
Just be sure to show yourself a little charity.
Too often alone and the soul will grow weaker.
Companionship can heal even the most wounded seeker.
