A much more civilized hybrid than Ripper, Char has lived with the Severa Irrds in the Frying Pan since he was a child, having been left with them by his original family, years before the existence of the Irrd was common knowledge. Unlike most hybrids, who go their whole lives avoiding social relations, he has a strong kinship with the Severa and considers them to be his real family, defending them as fiercely as any Irrd. The nickname Char was given to him when it was discovered that he could breathe fire. Char is quite agile because of his upbringing and highly skilled with the spear the flock is normally seen carrying. It is believed that Char was originally from a nomadic clan.
