I had great fun with this picture, I wanted to do a sheet of head ideas and wondered about different species of birds and found three that I thought would create interesting Gryphons.
The eagle one is more stylised than the lower two, mostly because I liked how it was turning out and deiced to add details such as the jewelled plaits and different coloured feathers for abit of contrast. In fact I like him so much I may have to make him into a fursuit.
The other two are a Emperor penguin and a Sun parakeet as I really love their colours, so vibrant and tropical :).
I'll be posting pictures of other head reference sheets of various beasties such as more Gryphons plus some will have full body sheets with more details on why it looks the way it does, some background history etc etc.
