Not all people are the same. Plus, it's set in the Eberron universe...dwarves, and all other races for that matter, generally don't have the same grievances that they do in classic D&D. For example, when the major dwarf clans were vying for dominance, one of them, seeking some extra muscle, forged an alliance with the local tribe of mountain orcs. Those dwarves and orcs ended up forming a close-knit brotherhood that has spanned many generations.
