Sketching for a possible future collaboration -- working on a more painted style than photo-realistic. This is a change in style for me; it's always good to keep yourself on your toes when you're learning (which should be all the time).
The building on left is rendered shadeless, so it's just drawn from its texture map without lighting. (Everything else is rendered GI.) I baked its global illumination and ran its texture map through a filter to simulate paint strokes. The settings could be improved, and the model could use some paint from an actual hand, but the point is to bring computer-rendered environments into context with hand-painted elements, if you don't paint. And at least by that metric I consider it a successful test.
But the prospective project partner is a big painter and has experience with 3D, so he doesn't see this as a big win. If he wants to touch every square inch of every environment, that works for me!
