I've recently gotten myself into playing MESBG (Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game) with my local gaming group, and as such I've wound up collecting quite a few miniatures to support collections for both Arnor and Angmar.
This is my Arnor collection thus far.
For the 30 Warriors of Arnor, I opted to use Numenoreans instead of the official models that are out of stock. I did this for a couple of reasons:
1. I wasn't particularly interested in the official models to begin with; and
2. Battle for Middle-Earth II: Rise of the Witch-King kind of cemented Numenoreans as good Arnor proxies by default to me already.
My choice to have some with spears and others with swords is purely cosmetic - all Warriors of Arnor have both by default.
The 12 rangers with spears are all metal Grey Company miniatures from back when GW was running a made-to-order sale that included them. As is, they're an Aragorn/Arathorn away from being able to run as a Rangers hero army on their own.
There's 17 Hobbit Archers as well, sourced from Medbury Miniatures as "Armoured Halfling Archers". For Hobbits in the employ of Arnor, it just didn't seem right to be using a bunch of farmers from GW's Shire range. They nominally come in packs of 5, but two extras managed to slip into the package sent my way.
Among those Hobbits are three with war horns, which are kind of a must-have when your warriors and rangers both suffer from having the courage value of an orc.
Where I said I wasn't fond of the official Arnor minis for warriors, I was otherwise okay with doing so to distinguish the Captains from the troops. Three of them were purchased from Unreleased Miniatures, with two being equipped with shields and a third equipped with a bow. For some assurance, I also picked up the official models for Cirion and Berengond as alternatives, as well as an Aragorn/Arathorn model from Medbury Miniatures.
The three Standard Bearers are the official Boromir (Captain of Gondor), the official Halbarad, and another Unreleased Miniatures model.
Of the two kings, the one holding a Palantir is from Unreleased Miniatures as a King of the North. The other one, along with Malbeth the Seer, are from Medbury Miniatures.
Of the lot, this is 63 models coming to about 1182 points total, of which I would legally be allowed to field upward of 994-1030 points if I drop a king and 12 bows from my non-hero models (rangers or hobbits in this case).
