Okay so here's one of the few totally made up conventional weapons I thought up.
It's an double barrel over under shotgun that's REPEATING/PUMP ACTION!
That's right, it holds more than just 2 rounds! And yet it's a double barrel over under shotgun which typically just holds 1 shell per barrel which is two rounds.
I know in real life there's a double barrel more that 1 round per barrel pump action shotgun called the DP-12 but that's a side by side not an over under shotgun.
I can't find any over under double barrel shotguns that have multiple rounds per barrel.
So I thought "You know what? I'll make one myself!" art wise that is.
I'm no gunsmith but I'm hoping one day a gun company in real life makes and over under repeating shotgun whether it be pump action, semi-automatic, revolver, etc..
I hope they make one someday so that I could buy and use it.
Okay well how does my crazy gun work? Well The 2 inner tubes you see are the barrels, the 2 outer tubes you see are the magazine tubes. The bottom tube feeds the bottom barrel from the bottom and the top tube feeds the top barrel from the top.
The gun is loaded like a regular shotgun. You put the shells in through the loading gates locating outwards from the ejection ports. There's a loading gate on the top and one on the bottom.
I just realized I forgot these so I'll put them in later.
Only one barrel is fired and one corresponding pump is used at a time though there's a switch on top of the stock that allows you to rapidly alternate which barrel to fire. If you cock both pumps at a time when both tubes/barrels are loaded you make them interfere which each other. This leads to a shell from the non-selected barrel to elect just as the one from the selected barrel which isn't good. You only want shells to eject from the select barrel you're firing.
This gun is based off of the Mossberg 590 so think of it as that but double barreled over under.
It holds 26 rounds 13 per magazine tube/barrel. It's a 12 gauge and it's really badass!
So what makes it badass? Well 26 rounds is pretty high capacity for a pump action and really high capacity for a double barrel over under! Yeah, I know it's not real but hopefully it will be or something like it.
That's a lot of rounds to blast someone with. Also it has 2 barrels one over the other so the guy is nicely balanced from a handling perspective. And you get to blast someone with 2 barrels.
You can also load one tube/barrel at a time. I was thinking of making a feature so if you just have one tube/barrel loaded a time you can clamp the 2 pump together. You wouldn't have to worry about one pump interfering with the other as you cock both since only one of tubes is loaded.
Anyways I did mock up of this shotgun in photoshop by taking a mossberg and fiddling around with the parts to make it double barrel.
I thought it was really cool and wanted to share it with you guys. I might make a 3d model of it.
This was made in flash btw. So much easier to draw in that program than photoshop although photoshop allows for more features.
I'll make other versions of this type of gun as well like a semi-automatic version.
This will be in my Galaxiers game btw.
