Phase 1: Before Marie and Keyleth met Zeta and the others in Odysst, both of the Therian girls were on the run from both the American slave hunters and the Russian human supremacist group, one wanting to capture them for the high elites to drain the their magic, their very souls to make sure these corrupted high class fallen humans from not only losing their powers but their appearance as corrupted faux demons from showing and giving the populance even more reason to rebel against the corrupted government. While the other believes in Human superiority and thinks ALL non humans don't deserve to live or exist and thus wanting to kill these two.

Henche why these two were trying to get to Romania where the new faction "Terran Federation" whom did not look down on demi humans and was built to combat against the corruption and unfairness of the worlds governments iron grips.

So naturally they were not prepared to somehow ending up in an entire new world during their travel and would end up making traps and fight Zunei and the others, thinking they were other hunters after them but got their asses kicked and realized they were no longer on Earth.

Phase 2: Marie and Keyleth would be taken in as part of new members for the newly made guild "The Moron Squad" and so, Elizabeth hightower went above and beyond to not only help them but even took them to barber shop and clothing store to get them freshed up as they no longer needing to run for their lives anymore and now slowly adjusting to this new strange world that has humans that are FAR more accepting toward non humans and sub humans.

Phase 3: Marie finally unlocked her full potential as a Therian after finally realized she is her own person and don't have to answer to monsters in human skins and accepted that Odysst is her new home and the Moron squad her family.
