The Noon hour had arrived, and the influx of customers coming into the Bakery/Ice cream shop was beginning to increase. Despite the increase in customers, Maya was still able to handle her own, knowing the wave of people coming in wasn't going to last long. But as she was handling the last couple of customers in line, that was when she saw a familiar face enter the front door.


????: Well now. Looks like I made it after the small rush after all.


Looking at the front, Maya saw Ms. Battleberry, still wearing her physical education clothes.


Maya: Oh, Violet! Yeah, you just made it as soon as it was finishing.


Ms. Battleberry: Well that’s good. Gives me time since I’m on break.


Maya: I’ll say. So what can I get you?


Ms. Battleberry: I was wondering if I can get a few boxes of donuts and some eclairs. I feel like giving my students something to look forward to if they win the volleyball match today.


Maya: Sounds good. And would you like to try a free sample of a new ice cream flavour I just got?


Ms. Battleberry: I don’t see why not.


Reaching for a small plastic spoon, Maya took a scoop of it, and gave it to Ms. Battleberry. As she tried out the sample, Maya was preparing the boxes and filling them with the donuts and eclairs that were requested. But as this was happening, neither one of them noticed the purple glow and dark aura that was beginning to emanate from the back room of the shop.


Maya: Here you go, Violet. All nice and packed.


Ms. Battleberry: Thanks, Maya. Here’s a bit of extra for your trouble.


Getting the money from Ms. Battleberry, Maya handed the box of pastries to the Gym Teacher. With one arm holding the boxes, and the other holding the small spoon, Ms. Battleberry waved goodbye to the baker, as Maya gave a warm smile in return.
