Some color tests I pulled together for our Production Team short, Coyote and Eagle Steal the Sun and Moon. These are, by no means, final tests, they're just something to present to the group for further development.
1. Day Light Pallets- The normal colors for the characters. Coyote was designed by myself, and Eagle, though he is unpictured, was developed by
caninehybrid. The base colors she made for him are shown in the first pallet group on the bottom of the screen. Rabbit is a minor character, and those were two natural colors I pitched for him. We decided to go with the grey design to contrast the browns in Coyote and Eagle.
2-4. Night Light Pallets- These were just tests with some filters and adjustments in photoshop, to show the normal colors as they'd be seen in the moonlight. Really...I only like number four. All of number 2 came out too purple, and all of number 3 came our WAY to saturated and bright blue. I think number four on each is still in need of adjustment, but it was the best of the temporary pallets.
5. No Light Pallets- The majority of the story takes place when the sun and moon are non-existent. I figure, with no light of any sort in the world, the characters wouldn't be so much dark hue in color as they would be devoid of it. So I simply desaturated the Day Light pallets a bit, not to completely remove color, as that would remove interest, but to just give them a dull, bland look.
The Sun and Moon
1. The normal colors of the Zuni sun symbol, and those same colors on the moon, just changed to a more blue hue. (Photoshop Hue/Saturation menu can be amazing)
2. The sun in more spring and summer-esque colors, and the moon bearing the original red and blue colors, just darkened (as is the night)
3. Original colors on both the sun and the moon, just lightened (as they are both light bearing bodies) and more/less saturated as needed.
Note: These concepts are subject to a review by our group, and will be altered depending on what the four of us agree on. Any input is appreciated and welcomed, but may not be used, depending on how the whole group feels on the matter. Just a heads up.
Edit: Just a quick edit, I added one of our production backgrounds to this piece, to see how the colors fit to the environment. It made the colors easier to see, and also looked neat, so I thought I'd change out the file for that real quick ^^
Course, it also shows how sloppy my in-the-lines coloring jobs are, but what the heck XD
