Nothing is truely original. Someone always takes ideas from another and morphs it into their own. My character Faye came a little before Califur 2009. I don't know how I was looking up bats, but I came across this guy http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3714072/ I liked the color and how the character looked took the idea and changed it into my own ^_^. So, the blue bat was born dubbed Faye and the name came from Gundam Seed Destiny of one of the character. All in all nothing is truely original, the inspiration came somewhere.

Yyyyyup well I know you are right it was another friend of mine (
emo-supremo) who had a bandicoot fursona too and since she was quite unique I thought about it myself too. She's been an influence for me about becoming a furry. And I have another friend around here who is a bandicoot (
danieltekasui) so that makes us 3 Yeah we need more! But we are unique in our species!
In fact. A wolf or a fox or any other common animal does not give me the complete feeling of being a fur XD jk jk I know every fur has their own uniqueness.
Plus, you're unique for yourself too, I rarely see any bats too around.
Sorry for the long comment, I BABBLE TOO MUCH D8

Waffelle was pretty much just a general nekogirl-esque skunk with waffles incorporated into her. No inspiration from anywhere specific.
It's so true though. And the worst part is people are so aggressive about "copyright". I get it if they steal someone's art, or pretend to be them, but ideas have to come from somewhere! X3
