COMMISSION NOTES
I had a little free reign with this one. The general notion was that Belmont was shooting a rifle through a building. I may have been watching Schindler's List or something, because I found myself wondering how many buildings could one blast from a laser rifle penetrate. The answer is at least three.
Writing out the scenario in prose, playing around with it, exploring, helps deepen the concept. I don't know why. At least partly, it makes you get more specific. Sometimes going straight into the image, you end up being general/stereotypical.
Color wise I had recently started looking at a 3d modeler named Khyzl Saleem. He'd achieved exactly the kind of intense contrast and vibrancy that I seem to lust after.
