Rikudo Shoryuugen was once a disciple of the Kokuryuuken-Ryuu (Black Dragon Fist Style) Karate, a Style that derived from a darker Satsujinken (Murderer Fist) fighting style but is now not a killing art. Although he was one of the dojo's best disciples, he was solely looking for taking his strength to the next limit, thus he wanted to learn the dark secrets of Kokuryuuken as he feel that the limitations of Kokuryuuken is there without those secrets. His Master had forbid him to seek further attempt to learn those techniques as they are taboo techniques that have no further use for today's society. Rikudo felt that his master was just afraid that he will be more powerful than him and trying to put him in his place. But further on, He challenged his master and through a hard-grueling match, he murdered him. The other disciples had tried to seek revenge for their master's death but he already proved too strong for them. After all of what had happened, Rikudo still couldn't learn the darker secrets of Kokuryuuken, Thus He decides to make use of what he learnt and try to make his own brand of techniques. So far, he has been successful of creating a more destructive fighting style. Now he wanders the regions of the Pokemon World, always looking for someone to challenge him to the ultimate fight to the Death. He usually go challenges Dojos that might have potential hardened martial artists or seek out the other wandering fighters that he has heard of their strength. Perhaps Rikudo will come across the Mysterious Martial Artist, Mr. Hadou (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3944210/).

Just like Akuma from Street Fighter, Rikudo doesn't kill foes that are weaklings to him, he prefers "Fruits that are ripe enough for eating". He tells those who are as strong as him or near his level of fighting that if they're prepare to fight him, better be prepared for the worst.
