I do disagree with the idea that any sort of sex not used for the purpose of procreation is a fetish though. Sex has a primary and secondary purpose. The primary purpose of sex is of course creating children. The secondary purpose is to strengthen the bond between two partners (most people would just say husband and wife). If a husband and wife want to have sex without the idea of procreation in mind, why would that be a fetish?

Actually, that wasn't my opinion. It just caught me so off guard when I heard it that I had to add it in.

Ah. Though I think it was more this part that made me add that in: "Because of this, I advise all those who have become sterile whether by medical conditions or by fireworks to swear off ever trying to have a normal life and pursue a life free of the burden of sex." Since that part came afterwards, I sort of felt like it went hand in hand (at least a little bit) with the quote.

The fireworks bit was intended to make people laugh and alleiviate tension built up to that point.

Simply put, I believe that if we eliminated government involvement in marriages in the United States and gave power back to churches (allowing any and all church that doesn't include “pedo-bear” in the title to exist), we might actually have some peace.

You know what I never understood? Gay "marriage" (and, no, I don't put quotations to be snide; I believe all modern day marriage is a farce) is a silly thing to argue about. The only reason it's an issue is because states were picky about what Civil Unions they would honor. Marriage, by most definitions, is a religious aspect that the government, for all it's groaning and moaning about church and state being separate, shouldn't have stuck their hands in anyway.

As for the "fetish" part, I do like that you sort of saved the argument on your half by later shedding light to those who have been made sterile, since the definition would naturally encompass all who have sex without conception. It certainly isn't a choice, no more than our favorite color or food (admittedly, those two are in entirely separate categories to sex...though not for some, it would seem.)

To me, it seems retarded that people argue over things like homosexuality...I don't see it as a "Fetish", I see it as couple who truely like each other, if two people honest to god, or whatever divine power resides in this world, love each other for who they are, and their personality, I couldn't give two fucks if they are of the same sex....

Seriously, I don't even want to comment on this but after sitting and reading it through I must say you are rather ignorant to your surroundings. Homosexuality is not a fetish, this is coming from another LDS member. Although our church does not believe in the acts of homosexuals, I myself believe that love is love weather it be between a man and a women or two members of the same sex. Sex is not always about procreation, hence why condoms were made. The acts of sexual intercourse between two people who love each other is a way to bond and feel closer to one another.
A fetish on the other hand say bondage is for sexual gratification and can be done on a level between two people that do not love each other. A fetish can also be something one does by themselves such as wearing diapers, it does not involve a loved one necessarily.
