This is the colored version of my newest piece for my Warriors Series, the Roman centurion. I'm rather fond of this picture, since I really hate drawing horses, and as infrequently as I draw them I think he came out really well. Please help me out here and help me come up with a background for this poor guy! I need a better idea than saying that he's standing in a snow-covered field!
I had originally envisioned this epic battle sequence with this guy standing in amongst his men (Horses?), rallying them forward as they fell about him, but the problem I quickly ran in to was that I lack the artistic skill to bring that image to life. I may give it a shot on my own free time, but odds are it won't be posted.
For those of you who are curious, the "SPQR" on his scabbard stands for "Senatus Populusque Romanus" which means "The Senate and the Roman People. Consider yourselves educated X3.

How about he is standing next to a snow bank?
Since he is throwing a javelin and I assume that you don't want to put a lot of other characters in the drawing like in combat. How about a throwing range improving his skill with the javelin?
Other than not showing his hooves you did a good job.
