Egg, cheese and toast fantasically fried for a full flavousome treat from the kitchens of
rustybat
Well....webcam+food images= unappetizing, I know this..but ignore the crappy image..these are yummy.
This is fairly easy to make, just requires some mid-tier food flipping skills.
Have some room temperature butter, preheat your nonstick frying pan to mid/low temp 4 or so on a 1-10 dial. Then butter one side of all your slices of bread, making sure they are completely coated. Then use a small mouthed cup or whatever you have on hand that's similar to cut a hole out of 2 slices of bread...you'll want at least a inch of bread left on the edges.
(you can save and fry these little bread discs along with the sandwich for yolk dipping)
Drop I set of buttered bread into the pan, 1 solid 1 holed butter side down, and place 2 pieces of whatever cheese your using...or the grated equivalent onto the solid piece...when the cheese starts to melt the bread should be toasted enough....flip the holed bread only and quickly crack and drop the egg into the hole...not so fast the yolk ruptures though. Add a dash of salt and pepper to the egg now if you wish...
Let it cook until it stops sizzling/looks white all along its underside then scoop it up firm and fast preferably with a wide spatula and drop it on the cheese bread egg facing up/out...squish it just a bit around the edges with the spatula...so the cheese grabs the bread..then drop a bit more butter in the pan on the opposite side, once the butter melts...flip the sandwich over, egg down into the melted butter...cook it for 2 minutes or so...scoop it up, and drop it egg side up onto your plate.
Death in sandwich form. :9
