[From the 'Burning Hearts/Azeria' timeline]

After Agent Leon Embers fell to the world Spira through a Dimenseporter, he had spent a year living with Aries Passadar, famed mercenary.

In that time, they had become extremely close and Aries allowed herself to open her heart again.

But Leon had only come because he chased a demon from Earth, and that being still roamed free, soaking up the residual energy it could and becoming a nightmarish abomination, culminating in a massive battle with all of Aries' squad squaring off with the being.

The beast was slain, but in so doing, Leon found himself flung back to Earth with no way back.

But neither despaired. Deep in their heart of hearts, they knew they would see eachother again, divided by the membrane between worlds though they may be.

And when Kristie Sparks, Aries dearest friend, cracked the secret of Dimenseportation, they indeed found eachother again.
