The first thing Dart felt after waking up was that dull ache across her whole body that punished every move she made. Slowly, her sight cleared out enough to recognize shapes, fire flickering on candles as she slowly took in the place around her. The night light found herself inside a house, resting on a bed. She had no memory of how she ended up here, only remembering a young Viking running toward her before everything turned black. Who knows how long has passed? Like struck by a bolt, she tried to get up, panicking and causing quite a commotion.
She heard quick steps coming for the other room, and soon the door opened and revealed the man her father talked about; green eyes, a slim figure, a pegleg. It was Hiccup Haddock himself.
In the following days, the Haddock family kept checking on her wounds, applying an unknown substance that helped to heal the cuts she got from the crash. They didn’t forget that the dragon had an appetite, bringing the delicious fish she could not have dreamt of.
She saw other people coming to see her, two blonds that always argued with each other; they had to be siblings, she thought. There was also that large man that looked at her from each side and couldn’t hold back his excitement to check every nook and cranny of her body.
There was also the loud one, trying to be bossy, but all that was a show-off. The blonde-haired mate of Hiccup always managed to call out that Viking's bluff no matter what.
Whenever they visited, they discussed loudly in another room, going back and forth to bring big sheets of paper. The night light fury observed interest, figuring out they were doing their best to find her own family. She hummed in hope; one thing that her father told, Hiccup was stubborn, and he would always get things done right.
She was snapped from the thought when Hiccup’s kids, Zephyr and Nuffink called her. Their eyes moved from her to the door leading outside and back as they slowly moved toward it. She purred quietly, feeling the inner hatchling waking up in glee. Like a cat, she took quiet steps, following the siblings. The door opened slightly to see if the path was clear, and they were out.
After reaching the forest undetected, the group left their guard down a bit and relaxed. For Dart, it has been a while since she has been able to experience the freedom of the world, so she let herself enjoy it. In front of her, the siblings were chatting and glanced back at the night light fury now and then. Sometimes calling her when she stayed behind. Later, they took a turn behind the rock and fell silent.
As soon as Dart appeared around the corner, she took a snowball straight at her forehead. She shook her head with mild annoyance and squinted her eyes at the jokesters. Nuffink and Zephyr burst laughing and threw another snowball at the dragoness, then started running.
Dart took the chase.
It didn’t take long till the friends began exchanging hits in a cheerful play and hiding from one another. The night light fury had an advantage, but the siblings hadn't made it easy for her but scored some points anyway. This time it was Dart's turn to hide; she lay flat in a crouched position listening to any sign of the playmates nearby
Suddenly, her left ear picked up a crunching sound nearby, too close for her liking. Like a spring, she jumped from her hiding spot, turning her head back to see how close the pursuers were, only to get a loud smack behind her left eye with a loud poof. More snowballs were flying her way already.
She lolled her tongue out in a playful manner and roared “Catch me if you can!”

Ah, beautifull scene, althought I am surprised that they doesn't try to get any information out from Dart, or they do?
I bet that the next picture will be grumpy Toothless around his pridefull captors.
And New Berk is such lovely island, it have forests, lakes, mountains, gorgeous cliffs... Literally everything necessary! Safe as well if inhabitants would be comptetent enough to actually guard it, and with those new unnerving news, they undoubtely do meticulously. It only lacks dragons... At least now. Who knows what will follow later.

From what we saw in the movie, it's a great place. Tho I wouldn't envy how cold it may be there due to the height of the Island. No dragons is a bummer for sure xD

They could just draw something and ask Dart in nod/shake head response, she is smart, she would get it, but yeah, ammount of info from this would be limited, since she doesn't have proper undearstending of many things, like military equipment, and it is unlikely that she counted hunter forces.
Phi, cold? I absolutely hate warmth! To cold is better than to hot, since hot make you a little fuzzy, and I like to stay focused and quick-thinking to write fanfics and enjoy fanarts! This island would be good place to live honestly, assuming basic commodities are on place. Just imagine those views...

She is an animal in the end, really smart one but the language barrier is too great to tell them how many hunters are there. It doesn't take a rocket science for Berkians to figure out there are a lot of hunters considering in what state Dart got here.
I'll admit you can do more against the cold than heat so It seems it'd be a fine place to live there and the views indeed.
