"Hon, stop."
"Oh, god! Fuck! I forgot I got to write that paper, too!"
"Hon... please stop."
"And I gotta go to work and then be at school. Fuck sleep tonight, get me a 5 hour energy!"
"Hon. Stop. Now." TJ gripped his mate's shoulders and looked him in the eye, "Colin, you need to calm down. You are 20 years old. You are supposed to be stressed out and living paycheck to paycheck. Come 30 you'll be thanking yourself, as will I."
Colin silenced himself and took a deep breath, trying to slow his panicked breathing.
"Life is a nightmare right now, I know. But you need to loosen up. I had to learn it the hard way, and I learned it when I was 20 as well."
Colin's blue eyes gazed into his mate's violet ones with a little bit of agony and desperation, a 'save me from me' look, "How did you do it?"
TJ gave a quick chuckle and smiled, "Let me show you."
Colin followed TJ from their apartment to his car and they drove for 20 minutes into the country. Colin would ask now and then where they were headed but TJ tried to keep it hush.
Finally, they arrived in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere; a hilly countryside, the evening sun blocked by a hill. A few trees were scattered here and there, the air was cool and breezy. TJ parked his Taurus on the side of the lonely dirt road halfway in the grass and they both extricated themselves from the car.
The fox smiled as he stood up, "Colin, follow me to the top of the hill."
Colin was a little uneasy. For the year they'd been together as mates, TJ had never acted so secretive.
"Follow me, hon." TJ said and began to trek up the hill the car was parked at the foot of.
Colin followed, and when he reached the top his breath was taken away by a gorgeous view. The sun and mountains in the distance met, producing a wide array of colours. Streaks of clouds from airships and puffs of white laced with orange from the sun filled the evening sky.
"Where the hell...?"
"This is where I go to calm myself." TJ said, sitting down, "Come and sit with me."
Colin inhaled the air and the breeze blew against his red jacket, he spread out his arms and closed his eyes, taking it all in.
TJ looked up at his mate, knowing that his plan had worked. The fox smiled as he watched Colin spread his paws out, the breeze flipping his hair around, "I knew you'd love it."
