Oooh, good one. Hummm. Let's see. I'd consider a bright orange / yellow stripped coloration, with the exterior 'fleshing' to be rubbery so that if attacked, the outer layer takes the crunch and doesn't allow the demon fish's teeth to break through it.
That or perhaps add in a stunner type device to shock the demon fish to release the bot.
