No, it isn't a Gundam. It's a Dragonar! Yes, there's a difference.

Metal Armor Dragonar was, as far as I can tell, Sunrise's attempt to make a new giant robot show in the same vein as Gundam that would make a good introduction to the mecha genre for unfamiliar viewers. I don't know a ton more about it, mostly because the episodes I've managed to see have absolutely God-awful broken English subtitles. I do know it has an absolutely badass opening sequence.

As for the model itself, it was a ton of fun to build and has some really neat features, like the nice soft finish on the white parts, and every piece of armor can be removed to reveal a simple inner frame underneath.
