When the River Tribe gives birth to a melanistic Shadow Furred they will often offer them to the Shadow Fang, a clan of River Tribes people that all have melanistic fur, they specialize in espionage and covert actions for the River Tribes people, they all have melanistic fur because early in hyena settlement in the clan's lands their was a natural disaster in the area that left mostly Shadow Furred the only survivors. When the clan became renowned for being really good at espionage, impoverished and nobles alike from the other clans would give them Shadow Furred children and babies, thinking they would have a better quality of life or to create an alliance.
