Physical description
Ceri is a curious human / axolotl hybrid with pastel pink skin and large, hazel eyes that hide a mixture of intelligence, determination and pain. Her short, wavy hair, complete with the traditional emo side fringe, is currently a dark chocolate brown with gothic purple streaks; it’s been several years now since anyone last saw her natural copper ginger and blonde colours. A pair of external gills sit on the sides of her head where a human’s ears would, sensitive to the touch and usually poking up through her hair.
Her body is more on the short and stocky side, with thick muscles but also a sizable bust and wide, shapely hips, placing her on the curvier side of the body-size spectrum. A thick tail protrudes from just above her butt, covered in glimmering pastel multi-coloured scales that also coat most of her lower body, blending with the softer human skin around her waist.
Personality and Background
A ditzy, sassy but kind person, Ceryn (or Ceri as she prefers to go by) could easily be mistaken for a naïve, shy little girl. Her large eyes and cute face give her a youthful, attractive appearance and do a good job of masking the hell she's experienced in her short years so far.
Her regenerative axolotl genes give her skin and scales a remarkable gleam, always fresh to the glance but again, hide her years of tolling away on the engineering deck of Wex's ship, The Jewelled Fang. Despite her youthful and soft appearance, Ceri is no lay-about. She is well acquainted with a plasma welder, knows the right side of a gun and has a mean right-hook she can slam out if she feels threatened. Although she spends more time fixing the ship and maintaining the crew’s armoury than front-line fighting, she will occasionally see deployment as the pirate crew's heavy armour specialist and tank.
Those who work close with Ceri will appreciate the nickname given to her by Wex as ‘Near Miss’, as despite her general skill and dexterity with most tools, her sense of balance and personal space is perilous as best. Ceri has joked repeatedly that her regenerative skin is the only thing that has prevented her from looking like a pair of burnt jeans from all the accidents she has scraped through in her workshop. Whilst no serious accidents have happened to her as yet, she certainly has given those around her a few heart attacks.
When not toiling away at the various, endless jobs aboard the ship, Ceri can usually be found napping, snacking or searching for her favourite people to cuddle with. She adores travelling and exploring the universe. One of her favourite locations to visit are beaches, even though salt water is terrible for her gills. Beyond that, Ceri has a strong musical talent that manifested in her at a young age but has taken a back seat in her life, as the pirate's life leaves her with little time for pursuing her talents. She does however make as much time for this passion as she can, as the lead singer and back-up guitarist in a punk-rock band with her friends from home, called Solar Residue.
Although usually shy, there is something about the lights and glamour of a stage that helps bring Ceri's confidence out and those who've seen her perform often remark that her stage persona is a very different creature to her day to day personality. As those around her grow closer to her, they are often shocked by how sassy the seemingly shy young woman turns as she feels comfortable. Her humour is dry and unfiltered, with the axolotl more than happy to share her direct thoughts, even if that makes her friends a little uncomfortable from time to time. Those close to her often come to deeply appreciate her honesty however, knowing that her unfiltered sass and wit is only coming from a place of love and when she compliments you, she really means it.
Ceri enjoys a close relationship with the Captain, Wex, with Ceri being extremely grateful to Wex for whisking her away from her from her old nomadic life, and allowing her to work aboard his ship. Although lovers for a while, the two now enjoy a ‘best friends with benefits’ relationship with a mutual understanding that they weren't quite compatible as long term life partners, but still eager to see each-other thrive. Truth be told, Ceri is willing and able to lay her life on the line for her captain, as she would for any of her closest friends, but Wex gets a special mention in her heart as the daring space pirate that showed her kindness is some of her darkest moments.
No matter where she ends up, Ceri usually ends up being underestimated. From the cute, naïve looking face to the spotless skin and slightly short roamer height, her aesthetic just causes people to assume she's unskilled and easily taken advantage of. But beneath that regenerative exterior hides a girl who's been trampled on too many times to have it happen again. Cute? Sure. But weak? Not so much.

She can get extremely self-conscious though when asked to dom, or if she’s ever playfully teased about it, or if the topic ever just comes up.
