The final third installment of my headcanon doodles for HxH, this time giving the King himself the attention to detail that he deserves!!

Following up on my previous set of doodles for the other chimera ants, i had to consider the following when headcanoning him-

1. Meruem is a nigh-unstoppable force, so the creature based on him should be something equally fearsome and threatening.
2. While being mostly humanoid in appearance, a few comparisons to reptiles has been made for his headpiece. Thus, a reptilian-looking beast should be the perfect choice.
3. Since he is the king, the creature to anthropomorphised him into should be something that is equally as revered.

And so, with a lot of overthinking and a little bit of personal bias.... *motherfucking psuedo-draconic Meruem.* <:3


Decided to do a multitude of sketches mainly to practice front-angle shots of his face. While they are pretty difficult to draw....overall I LOVE how this design turned out, especially since I wanted to keep the same design principles from my other chimera ant anthros! u////u


I kinda wanna actually draw him in a legit finished piece - while screenshot edits are an inevitability, I also kinnnda have a specific scene in mind that i'd love to draw and put my own spin on. We'll see I3
