I think just the emotions of such a nice thing happening in real life. Dating panels at furry cons warn people about being too stiff in their demands for a lover because there aren't that many people in the fandom. For heteros it's even worse so a beautiful naturalistic male and female cat couple who like TF is amazing. I already did the math.
I see my parents about once a year. If I estimate based on the average life expectancy for men in Canada, family history, and his general health that my dad is going to live until 80, it means that I get to see him 17 more times.
If I move West, it's pretty safe to assume that number will be cut down at least by half.
So I get just a few more times.
