Reptu does play chess with his friends, and even his enemies, as seen in this one. Since Ombro is a dolphin, he should prove to be a very challenging opponent to Reptu. The game is just beginning and Ombro starts out with the Scandinavian Defense.
And I actually do play chess online. As for my skill level, I would say late beginner. My rating is 1000 for rapid, so high for a beginner but not to the intermediate level yet.

I think it's cool to see two furries square off in a game of chess. In the wild in the real world, animals compete against each other. But now that they're anthropomorphic, they can compete with each other with their minds. Also, it's especially cool when the two facing each other off are two different species. The species can complement each other, and each one can bring something different to the table literally.

So- how did Ombro get here is my question? I remember you had a drawing a while back of leg prosthetics, could that be it? Or does he have legs? Did someone carry him?

Ombro actually does have legs. I'll have to crank out his full-body design soon, so you can see him. They would look pretty similar to his pectoral fins.

I'm pretty god-awful myself. I only started playing about six months ago and haven't quite hit 700 on rapid yet. I'm in the 680s and still am prone to horrific blunders. >_<
But I have some experience playing against the Scandinavian as white! We should talk or do chess sometime.

Haha, nice. That's interesting. 680's? Not too bad, especially considering how long you've been playing. For that rating, there is some good strategy to reach that level. Oh yeah, easy blunders are the worst. I always have to keep track of bishops that are staring at my pieces from far away.

I can see that Ombro has some limbs now. I can also tell that the scene looks a bit complex. I have also noticed that there are some names for characters that you haven’t designed yet: Vulpert and Trexeron.

Haha, nice catch. Vulpert and Trexeron are some names of other characters offscreen having their own game. Because I've made those names on the spot, I may not use them, but for the species I've intended their names for, you'll be seeing those species in the future.

Woah! it's amazing! Dude Reptu this is a great drawing. I love the aesthetic you've captured in this one, I think it gives it a modern cartoon like feel. I love it, it's just sublime
