When you have two fursonas, people might wonder how you pick which one to portray yourself as in a given situation. A lot of the time, I'll have these two existing side by side together, but they are both me.

This is definitely a cool transition! I actually sorta like the in-between form's look quite a bit, especially the face, but you probably know by now I have a soft spot for critters with round snouts, teeth poking out, and that confused expression of "not sure if want".
Do you have any criteria for deciding which one to use for what sort of situations? I've noticed Crash generally seems to be for more fun stuff while Crownless tends to be used in more somber situations.
As somebody that juggles multiple avatars/sonas myself, I find that who I use for what tends to be both situational and based on my moods, and I tend to view them more like multiple saves/characters in the same video game but with different builds. You're one of the few people I talk to that doesn't seem to have a single "fursona" that is "them" for all intents and purposes, and it makes me feel less alone in a way to see someone else who makes different characters to represent different aspects of themselves and explore different moods and ideas.

You're right in that I tend to use Crownless for more somber moods, but sometimes I just go by vibes. I do know that when I have them appear as a pair, Crash is more easy-going and Crownless is more neurotic, but sometimes they are the opposite.
I'm glad I can make you feel less alone!
