yes indeed. As soon as you have to include color, then you have to actually start taking decisions about shadows, atmopshere and what not that will permanently decide for the outcome of the picture; in a way it can be a lot of pressure with traditional art to not mess it up ! That's why i like sketching a lot too :)
Exactly that, I relate so much which is why many times it can be hard to take that plunge and go ahead with coloring or full shading and detail. You like the drawing as it is bu it's always a risk to go further especially with traditional [so sad control-z is impossible].
So sketching this way is less pressure and more... liberating sometimes.
