Continuing to run, Maya used her enhanced speed to pull away from the cop, with the distance between them only growing. However, despite his short physique, Officer Sizemore wasn’t going to give up the pursuit so easily. Reaching with his right arm, he began to undo his holster that held his gun.
Officer Sizemore: Stop! Stop or I’ll shoot!
Despite the threats, Maya continued to run. Knowing full well what awaited her if she was recaptured. But not wanting to see if Officer Sizemore was bluffing or not, the Were-Bunny began to run into crowds of people. Even though she didn’t feel proud of using innocent civilians as shields, it did buy her some time to try and lose the cop. But despite the crowds of people, Officer Sizemore was able to get pass them without any problem.
Maya: Damn it! I gotta find another way to lose him!
Continuing to run down the city blocks, Maya made a sharp turn into an alleyway, hoping to make a getaway in the darkness.
Officer Sizemore: So, you’re gonna try to use the alleyways to get away from me like your friend did, huh? Well that stunt won’t work on me again!
Seeing what Maya was trying to do, Officer Sizemore continued to pursue the Were-Bunny, making sure that she didn’t leave his line of sight. With each corner she turned, and with each pathway she took, Maya couldn’t shake off the Officer. But just as she made a left turn down another alleyway, Maya’s eyes widened when all she saw up ahead of her was a large building. Maya was trapped.
Maya: No! Anything but a dead end!
Before Maya could turn back, she took a glance behind her. To her horror, Officer Sizemore was hot on her tail. Seeing she had no other choice, she continued to run further into the alleyway, as the dead end got closer and closer for her.
‘Damn it! If only I didn’t make this stupid mistake! But it looks like I may not have a choice. I gotta fight!’
With the dead end nearby, Maya knew she no longer had any options left. If she was gonna get out of this, she must take down Officer Sizemore. And with the consequences of doing so looming over her head, she knew she would be a wanted fugitive in the end. But as she was raising her right arm out to summon her Keyblade, a small glimmer of light began to appear ahead of her. To Maya’s luck, a backdoor that led to the inside of a building opened. And making their way out to take out the trash, was a woman wearing a Gothic Lolita Bunny outfit, along with a pair of purple glasses with the lens shaped into stars.
‘Oh thank the Stars!!!’
Just as the woman was placing the trash near the door, she was about to make her way back in. That was when she heard someone yell towards her.
Maya: WAIT!!!
Looking back outside, the only thing the woman saw next was a Bunny girl heading straight for her. Before they could react to what they were seeing, Maya had made her way inside, shoving the woman back in as the door behind them shut closed. Not believing what he had just witnessed, Officer Sizemore could only grunt in frustration. His target had gotten away from him. Again.
Officer Sizemore: Damn it! Damn it I was so close to arresting her!
Just as Officer Sizemore was venting out at what had happened, he looked back out to the alleyway, and then looked back to the closed door in front of him.
Officer Sizemore: No…..this isn’t over. Not yet.
Not wasting any time, Officer Sizemore began to walk out of the dark alley, making his next move.
Maya and the Gothic Lolita Bunny Girl were both inside the building, which had given Maya a large sense of relief. But that was short-lived when she was soon bombarded with numerous questions by the woman she had only just pushed back inside.
????: Excuse me! Who are you?! What were you doing back there?! And why did you just do that?!
Maya: I’m sorry I did that. But I needed to get somewhere safe from-
Just as Maya was about to explain everything, she abruptly stopped when she got a good look at the woman who she had just shoved back inside. Getting a good look at her star-shaped glasses and hair colour, her eyes widened.
Maya: Wait……Yoko? Is that you?
Hearing her name, Yoko took a step back, immediately getting suspicious.
Yoko: How do you know my name? Did someone send you?
Maya: No, Yoko. You got it all wrong. We’ve known each other for years. Remember?
Taking a good look at the Were-Bunny, Yoko could do nothing but look at her strangely.
Yoko: Have we met before?
Remembering that she was in her Were-Bunny form, Maya could only groan at this realization.
Maya: Yes, we have. And I can tell you everything about what’s going on. But please, I need somewhere to hide right now.
Yoko: Hide? Why do you need to hide?
From the front of the building, Yoko’s question was soon answered when she heard yelling.
????: Alright! I know you’re in here Miss Bunny! Come out peacefully! Don’t make this worse for yourself!
Yoko: Okay that answers it.
Maya: Please, Yoko! I’m begging you. Please trust me.
Seeing Maya plead to her, she knew not to trust anybody she didn’t recognize. But in this case, something at the back of her mind was telling her to trust the Were-Bunny.
Yoko: Okay. I’ll help you. But you better explain everything after all of this. Follow me. They won’t find you in the storeroom.
At the front of the building, Officer Sizemore had gotten out of the alleyway. He then proceeded to enter the establishment, which turned out to be a Soup Kitchen. At the front counter, Yoko’s friend Olivia, was serving a man a bowl of freshly made food. But when she saw Officer Sizemore abruptly enter inside, she knew things were going to get hostile.
Officer Sizemore: Alright! I know you’re in here Miss Bunny! Come out peacefully! Don’t make this worse for yourself!
Olivia: Excuse me, Officer! Is there a reason you need to shout in here?
Getting Officer Sizemore’s attention, the cop turned to Olivia. That was when his frown turned into a scowl.
Officer Sizemore: Hello there, Caulder. Fancy meeting you here.
Olivia: Fancy meeting?... It's my Soup Kitchen.
Officer Sizemore: You can keep saying that as a cover. But I know you’re involved in those incidents of jewels and other merchandise being stolen!
Olivia: Really? Well did you find anything to prove it?
Officer Sizemore:………No.
Olivia: Didn't think so. But back to the topic, why are you shouting in my Soup Kitchen?
Officer Sizemore: Just a few minutes ago, I was pursuing a suspect who had just broken out of a holding cell back at the Station. And just as I was about to corner them, the back door that leads to your Soup Kitchen opened, where they made their way in. So I’m here to look at the back area to find the suspect and bring them back.
Just as Officer Sizemore was about to make his walk to the back, he was stopped by Olivia.
Olivia: Now hold up, you can't just go into the back. I don't want you there.
Officer Sizemore: And why not? Got something to hide back there? Possibly some stolen items or merchandise?
Olivia: On the contrary. But we both know that a Police Officer cannot search any premises unless they have permission from the owner, which you don't. So unless you have a Search Warrant, I’m not letting you in the back for even a second.
Officer Sizemore could only glare at Olivia, as she did the same back to the Officer. At the same time, Yoko had made her way up to the front. As she took off her Star Glasses, and where she saw the two of them staring each other down.
Yoko: Ummm. Olivia? Is something going on here?
Olivia: No, Yoko. Nothing’s going on. Once the kind Officer here takes his leave we'll close up for tonight. We were supposed to close 10 minutes ago after all.
Olivia finished as her and Officer Sizemore continued to stare each other down. Seeing he wasn’t going to win this argument, the Police Officer could only huff, as he was preparing to leave in defeat.
Officer Sizemore: This isn’t over, Caulder. Not by a long shot. That I promise.
With those last words, Officer Sizemore leaves the Soup Kitchen, leaving Yoko to sigh in relief. But knowing why he was here, Yoko tried to play it off like she didn’t know anything.
Yoko: So……guess the cop was having a bad day huh?
With Officer Sizemore gone, and nobody else being in the building, Olivia quickly turned to Yoko.
Olivia: So where did ya put that “suspect” of his anyways?
Yoko’s eyes suddenly widened when she heard this question.
Yoko: H-how did you-
Olivia: Uhm!
Quickly pointing up to her Kitsune hers, Yoko looked at where Olivia pointed.
Olivia: These ears aren't just to be cute you know, and with how big they are it would be hard not hear the commotion going on at the back. But it was a good call to make her hide in the storeroom. Now I wanna see who's causing such a stir.
Making their way to the back and to the Storeroom, Yoko and Olivia open the Storeroom door, where they see the Were-Bunny, who had been munching on some carrots they had found.
Olivia: I know we're a Soup Kitchen, but did you really have to eat our supplies?
Maya: I’m sorry. I just haven’t eaten all day today.
Yoko: Well either way, the cop is gone. So now time to hold up your end of the deal. How do you know my name?
Maya: I was first surprised you didn’t recognize me after we were a team with everyone else for years, Yoko. But remembering I’m in this form, I’m not surprised since I always hid in my room whenever I turned into this.
Yoko: Wait….you were in Daybreak Town?!
Maya: I was, Yoko. You remember me as the Baker in the team. The one who was always in the kitchen area baking sweets and pastries all the time.
Taking some time thinking back to her time back in Daybreak Town, Yoko’s eyes narrowed at first. But when she remembered, her eyes widened in shock.
Yoko: MAYA?!

How's that for a reunion? You're taking out the trash when your friend runs towards you being chased by cops and looking like they're fursona. ;)
Great to see Yoko and Olivia be taking part in the chapter as well though, if things weren't that busy of course Olivia with her Kitsune ears would just casually listen in on whatever Yoko is doing in the back, makes you wonder what she's heard her do before. She is right though, those ears do look cute. ;)
Great pic though, really came together nicely as part of the story and connecting Maya to characters from previous chapters. :)

Yeah, it's really the most unexpected thing to happen to anybody when you feel it'll be just a typical night ;). But one has to admit, it's a welcoming one if it involves seeing an friend again ;).
Yeah it was great to see them both as well :). And that does leave a good question there ;). And yeah, it really does make her look cute ;).
It really is :). And yeah, it really shows its all coming together :)

Yeah that's for sure ;)
That is a really good question ;). Guess it all depends on how they are with Yoko, be it good or bad ;).
Yes it does :). And really goes to show that there's more to them than just wielding a Keyblade and having lives of their own before they got it :).
