This plumeria carries an ever-burning lantern gifted to him by the immortals. It is said the eternally burning light attracts the spirits of those recently deceased - where they can then be guided into the afterlife. It is this plumeria's duty to keep these spirits safe until they reach their destination on the other side. Spotting this plumeria can be seen as either a good or bad omen, as it could foretell the birth of a child, or the death of a loved one. For this reason, it is both revered and feared.
