They say that when a picture is taken or a portrait is made, a piece of the soul of the individual captured is kept in the image. This allows the snapshot of their life to seem almost alive at times. Staring out at us from a place in past history.

While I don't necessarily buy into that belief, it does make you wonder what we leave behind. What ripples in the pond as cast as we pass from this world and eventually onto the next.

It's sobering to think about and empowering too.

I know I'd like to make a ripple that causes other ripples. And a portrait that leaves others viewing it with a smile.

A fantastic portrait of my Nickit form, the lighting is really just phenomenal. While there's a couple of minor mistakes, I think the piece overall came out fantastic! Makes me wonder how my other forms would look in a similar medium.
