The falcon was still here this morning, and we decided that it would be best to try to get her (the better light showed the brown highlights marking it as a female) to the nearest rescue shelter. I went out there with a blanket and she ran, exposing that she had a broken wing. That presented me with an easy choice; do nothing and let her starve, or risk hurting her more by tying to help. Managed to actually get the blanket over her and get her into a box.
The drive to the shelter was interesting. The falcon actually managed to jump out of the box and perch on my back seat. Thankfully, she didn't do anything other than look around. Very calm bird, oddly enough. Anyway, got her to the wildlife rescue and hopefully she'll fly again one day soon.
Oh, and since I managed to outpace the world's fastest animal, that must make me the fastest thing alive, if you don't really think about it. I'll settle for being friend to bird and beast.

the wrolds fastest animal is now a minotaur..... YES, first we be the strongest now the fastest.
pretty cool to rescue her, hopefully they'll mend her damaged wing and she'll be back to hunt again. It's breath taking watching one of these predators hunt. I live in california so the best shows I get are from the red-tail hawks.

despite the suckage of the sequels and the kinda bummer ending, this book has been one of my favorites since I was little, and It has been a long time since I was little. Is a truly wonderful book everyone can enjoy and learn valuable things from.
