Cherry Blossom Trees weren't frequent around the wilds, not these days. I mean, well, spring obviously still occurred here, but considering how life was merely a suggestion half the time in these parts, you'd be forgiven for thinking they're some rare phenomena. Bastian, cave-based recluse that he is, didn't get to see them very often, and the same went for Aura. They'd been around eachother for years by now, both had evolved long ago. The Riolu, or rather Lucario now, recalled something about Happiness Levels and Friendship Levels, a bunch of pseudo-scientific terms coined by trainers to explain why their fluffy little brown baby turned into a disturbingly smooth shadow dog, or their Riolu growing into... Well, basically just a taller, lankier Riolu, with more torso fur. That's unrelated however, this was a night that, for once, they could sit under a Cherry Blossom Tree. Best thing was, it was night, an Umbreon's natural element. The blue glow of Aura's rings was... if Bastian was being honest, quite pretty (not that he'd admit it, mind you). The trudging up the hill was an experience all in itself, a silence broken by only the night breeze. It was something Bastian enjoyed, which was... also rare, he'd always been quite a bit pessimistic about everything, which contrasted with Aura's usual peppiness. It made them a bit perfect, they counteracted eachother, kept eachother grounded. No wonder they'd became such good partners despite their rough start.

Yes, it has two names. I couldn't decide. Both Moonlight Jackal and Cherry Blossom Moonlight are both great names, why not have 'em both? Naming aside, I'd like to just say that, no, most of these fics that I'm teasing will come out soon. The only candidate that may is Into The WILDS, mostly because that's not only a wind-down fic, but also because it's important to establishing Aura and Bastian's History in the LEGACY Canon. Notice how much I'm focusing on LEGACY too? Yeah, I'll get back to EXPLORERS at some point, I just really need to flesh out the new one cuz it reeeaaally needs it. Also this and the previously mentioned fic are me kinda rectifying how little Aura has actually shown up at all in my writing despite how actually important he is to both canons.
