Description:
Ella and Tuck King were Golden Retriever twins working as police officers stationed in New York City, mostly dealing with bank robberies and gunfights, but their most relevant operation was stopping the series of thefts committed by the super bandit Audrey D'Rose the Swallow, dubbed as "Ladybird". The super bandit alone proved to be clever and unpredictable, as she had many ways to bypass security and authorities, mostly frequent in museums, libraries, theaters and even prisons. Even her main weapon, the bird-shaped stick proved very useful besides stealing, as it could act as a self-defense tool laced with super magnetic beaks.
For months however, Ladybird had enjoyed stealling whatever she deemed valuable to her, in one way or another, only to be outsmarted and defeated by the King Twins, and one day she had fallen into a serious debt that she had decisively had enough. In the first week of January 2022, New York City was on a verge of war between two opposing native tribes. Out of a dozen Mafia clans at large, only the Skyes clan was ready to provide arms to the second tribe, as the rest either backed off out of fear of getting more serious charges or waited out to take opportunity in exploiting reconstruction and repair efforts. Despite that, even the co-leaders Roscoe and DeSoto Skyes were hesitant to carry out their promise, albeit for different reasons, but Ladybird butted in and persuaded the Dobermann twins to do it, adding that the first tribe had been secretly trading their own piles of gold with firearms and equipment from the city police right under the Grand Central Terminal. Roscoe was rightfully confused but DeSoto greedily agreed. In reality however, there were no natives found in that metro station, other than a large crowd of civilians (from buildings surrounding the terminal) holed up for safety guaranteed by no other officer but Ella and Tuck King themselves. As the war went on, few of Skyes' men were able to reach the Grand Central Terminal, only to find horrified citizens and the King twins underground instead and then be informed about the death of their leaders, prompting themselves to go out to find the killer. Few days ended in a unanimous ceasefire between two tribes, with last of Skyes' men captured and pressured to confess. When the King twins came upon the lie given to those gangsters, they immediately assumed to be Lovebird's lie and became furious over her personal revenge carried out on them through deceit.
Lovebird on the other hand, disguising as a flight stewardess in JFK Airport, had received word that the lockdown had been initiated onto the whole New York City in manhunt against Audrey D'Rose. Horrified over this done by her fatal mistake, she rushed into the boarding airplane bound for Miami and succeeded. One of the airport janitors however recognized her face (due to his experience as a janitor in one museum she visited the most) and alerted the police to her location. The airport authorities were also informed about the manhunt and the location of Lovebird, but only to find her ride fading out of the radar.
For few months, Ella and Tuck had their positions moved into a precinct in Miami in hopes of finding Lovebird, only for her notoreity to resurface, but rather in Santo Tomas, California. Apparently, her so-called charity, founded to help build more homes for the refugees from the destroyed Adventure Bay, was nothing more than a scam, deliberately cutting costs and silencing workers aware of it, just to fill her own coffers. Disgusted by this, the twins once again moved into another precinct in Santo Tomas, now hungry to put a serious stop to her devious plans for good, but the accidental interception by the defective anti-air gun put their airplane ride down into a ghost town of Cheapstake Ridge. Some recruits from Mt. Tingganda Military Base were sent to scout the said ghost town for any remnant of Brisa Creek resurgent, only to be able to find and rescue two passengers (the King twins themselves) out of the crashed plane.
The twins were brought into a town near the mountain base and were able to recover from the crash, but before they could continue their pursuit on Lovebird, they noticed a lot of townspeople being big and muscular and became curious of such phenomenon in the very town. The scouts were excited to learn the twins' curiosity and so brought them into the mountain base, when they would be inspected the supervisor of the MALAKAS Project, Christopher North. Another dog attending the inspection was Chase Alsatian, one of the three founders of the newly made group called the PAW Patrol, and had begun to see potential when those two officers were expressing their intention to go to Santo Tomas just to extradite Lovebird back to New York and to make her pay for her numerous crimes, including the charity scam back in Santo Tomas. Unbeknownst to the twins, the North family residing in that city had been dealing with such crime following the discovery of shoddy made homes since last two weeks, but to no avail. Chris eventually saw potential in the twins as well, and requested them to join in the MALAKAS Project, in hopes of getting them enhanced to perform better on pursuit against super criminals like Lovebird. The twins hesitated at first, but following the scouts' ecstatic persuasion, relented and signed in.
In one of their training days in the mountain base, Ella and Tuck took a break and a peak inside the mountain lab, where they stumbled upon a new contraption: a self-shrinking belt, invented by Ryan "Ryder" O'Kelly (another one of the three founders of PAW Patroller) to address the problem of Juggernauts barging into doors and ceilings shorter than them. Even though it was a mere prototype, Tuck wanted to try it out, much to Ryder's delight. Once activated and manually set by 1ft, Tuck was shrunk down from 5'6" to 4'6", proving Ryder's new work effective and leaving scientists amazed. While the effects of the belt were at best temporary and limited down to only one user at the time, other but muscular scientists were rather not invested into it. Even several Super Soldiers present were in disagreement with that prototype, still prefering smashing the walls as a cool entrance anyway, nevermind the costs of repair and collateral damage. Lean scientists on the other hand were pressured not to put the belt on the spot to the project's higher-ups, lest they be subjected into a forceful promotion to Super Soldier rank, and fearfully they relented without a word. While Ryder was disappointed with such a toxic environment, he was nevertheless happy with the self-shrinking belt working well, but when Ella curiously asked if that belt could also grow, he unveiled the self-growing belt to her instead. As the name intended, Ella grew from 5'3" to 6'3", just manually set up by 1ft once again. The King twins had become so invested in those belts, that they asked Ryder if they could keep them to themselves. As Ryder was about to insist on getting those prototypes accepted first, one higher-up (known for frequently inspecting the mountain lab the most) overheard the conversation and encouraged the twins to keep the belts, much to their joy. Ryder was once again annoyed with yet another kind of interference but understood the current situation (especially the said higher-up's case) involving the toxic Super Soldiers, and so relented, but in exchange asked them to join him in empowering the PAW Patrol, as members were designated to save the world from dangerous criminals. Remembering Lovebird's failed plot to get them killed back in New York, the twins agreed to become PAW Patrollers.
Once they had become Super Soldiers, not only did they decline to do more training just to become Juggernauts, but they also managed to sneak out from the mountain base with secret help of Chase and Ryder, allowing them to go to Santo Tomas, so they could stop Lovebird for once and for all. And because they hadn't given out any message to both precincts in Santo Tomas and Miami for the whole time, as well as their original workplace in New York City, they were publicly presumed dead from an accidental plane crash, forcing them to put up some disguise before even entering the city, despite that idea being reminiscent of Lovebird's common tactics. For the few whole months, Lovebird had outgrown from the charity scam and prospered through writing a false autobiography (technically a book about herself) about how she annoyed the King twins so much that they became hellbent on killing her, though she could never resist stealing artefacts and jewels from Santo Tomas' own museums and stores at any opportunity. Thanks to the unrecognizable disguise, Ella managed to fool her into giving her one signed copy during her recent book signing event, and alongside Tuck was deeply disgusted with sheer amount of dishonesty placed in Lovebird's book.
At midnight, Lovebird had arrived to rob the North manor, following the rumor of the family having brought valuables given by the recently late queen of England. It was also the time when the King twins decided to catch her off guard. First, Tuck shrunk himself just to sabotage Lovebird's stick, forcing its magnetism to fail, something she would eventually notice, but she had backup with extra parts and past mechanical experience to fix it. Should Tuck go with making tears to make spare parts slide through her pockets, tough luck on that, because her entire attire was well made to withstand any type of damage. So far, a single sabotage would only take Lovebird several minutes to get her stick fully stick, prompting Tuck to try to forcibly reassign the security camera to record her presense, while Ella opted to cut down tanoak trees nearby the North manor and take cans of non-metallic gold paint at its garage, not only to make a big cage so shiny to attract Lovebird, but to also make it extremely hard and durable enough to break once she got ensnared into it. Afterwards, Lovebird had just finished her stick and ventured into the display room where the late Queen's gifts were placed, but before she could even touch the door, a particular being came out of the display room and was surprised to see the swallow. Lovebird took no time to knock them out, but Tuck was quick to regrow back to normal size, knocking her off by suprise, allowing Ella to place the cage onto Lovebird. The swallow quickly recovered and recognized the King twins, but became horrified to realize that the cage was seriously hard to break and well-bent to hold itself together without a need for any lock mechanism. While she began a whiny rant about such an unexpectedly unfair trap, the twins were approached and commended by the said individual, named Benjamin North, the mayor of Santo Tomas. Aside from denying the rumors about bringing in the late Queen's gifts, he expressed being invested in reading Lovebird's autobiography following the supposed death of the King twins, until he had caught an eye of her sneaking into the manor and then being a crybaby over getting caught in the trap. Slightly embarrassed, Benjamin pledged to tell to the public about what Lovebird had actually doing for the whole time and then to have cleared the image of the twins that she had put on recently, but Ella and Tuck wished to remain incognito as they had join the MALAKAS Project, and more specifically the PAW Patrol, which intrigued Benjamin who happily let them go. With Lovebird left behind in the cage, Benjamin would only give the still whining swallow a brief glare before gunning into her head with a silenced pistol.
Ella and Tuck King had later returned into the mountain base unnoticed, satisfied over locking their worst enemy up for good, but not without struggle on going up. So Ella grew gigantic enough to climb onto the base before shrinking back to her normal size, though she was lucky that no one else was around the spot she chose. Realistically, she couldn't climb up the mountain, despite being an alternative route to the PAW Patrol HQ, as doing so could get unwanted attention from scientists inside. On the next day, several Super Soldiers were quick to notice Ryder's belts worn by the twins, and out of fear of being challenged, attempted to take those away, but Ella was quick grow humongous enough to discourage them, even from climbing. Horrified and disgusted by this scene, another Super Soldier attempted to punish Ryder for enabling the use of growth belts, but Tuck shrunk himself to catch him by surprise and beat him down to save the wheelchair monkey. Recognizing the power of those belts, few reasonable Super Soldiers confronted Chase and his friend Skye Cockapoo and warned them about implementing measures to counter reckless yet enjoyable damages, that any successful attempt of doing so would not only anger their toxic fellows but would also incite them to force a shift of power over the mountain base. While the PAW Patrol had become weary of tension with increasingly power hungry Super Soldiers over Ryder's genuine alternatives suggested at expense of their fun, another PAW Patroller named Zuma Alcazar was at the lowland lake, watching over as the lifeguard until he had witnessed the jeep in an accident, prompting himself to attend into that site.
