It took me a while to realize that the backgrounds between this'n and the colored one are different. I had a feeling but I never quite noticed :3

Yeah, the reason was something to do with the fact that what looks good in sketch is different in paint. I opted mostly for clear skies so that Jajuka would stand out - the greens of the forest would merge somewhat (has happened in the past for me) and the detail needed for decent looking tree bark would prove distracting.

Yeah, I inked the whole comic a little while ago - the drool (being less opaque) didn't get onto the ink layer. By the point I got around to painting them all though, I didn't have the sketch to hand and so I ended up losing the drool on the arm.

I cheat with drool on sketches anyway, its super easy to make them look like with pencil, painting is harder :D I need to start giving my drool some goopy thickness :)
